Free Font : Fanwood

Fanwood made by Barry Schwartz

Based on work of a famous Czech-American type designer of yesteryear. The package includes roman and italic. The current version is 1.1, which includes a few improvements. It also introduces Fanwood Text roman and italic, which are the same as Fanwood but slightly darker and reduces in contrast; I tailored it to increase readability on my Amazon Kindle 3 e-book reader.

For more information about the typeface, read this Wikipedia article

The fonts normally come with a very liberal MIT-style license, but for the League of Movable Type you may also consider them licensed under the OFL, without a reserved font name.

Free Font : Expletus Sans

Expletus Sans is a display typeface, which means that it is not recommended for long pieces of text. However, it's very effective for setting headers and other large sized text, due to it's way of pulling in the reader. It comes in 4 weights and will include italics from May 2011. It's character set supports most European languages, but if you do wish to have several extra glyphs made to support your language, please don't hesitate to send an email to the author.

  • to provide the community with a place for quality typefaces.

The Lost Type Co-op is a collaboration between Riley Cran and Tyler Galpin.
